29.3.14

I gave up self-subverting thoughts
Self: separate, me, that which knows
     Subvert: turn under, overthrow
As my Lenten (springtide) sacrifice:
To make sacred (to set apart)
As holy (heilagr) or reclaim whole

But mixed motives complicate
Do I seek to further separate
Or is my goal to integrate
Self-sufficient or self-sacrificial

Is my self fulfilled through
More differentiation
Or enhanced assimilation
In either case: what from what with

Am I subject (sub-jacere: under thrown)
S/he who is acted upon
Or actor: object (ob-jacere: before thrown)
In whichever either case, who is throwing

Am I perceived presented or purpose
Perceived by you presented to whom
My own purpose or yours, perhaps
An unfolding exploratory proposition

Might I for a moment be
Both subject and object
Now known and knower
Can could would should
Now known and knower

If I am an idiot (as occasionally exclaimed)
Isn't it the result of Is the cause being incommunicado
Out of communion with you and you and
You and all that in common we share in common
